My husband was a Navy pilot and while we were stationed on Guam, I volunteered at the USDA making diets for the endangered bird program on the island. I fell in love with the work and mission, and during our consecutive moves with the Navy I volunteered for other wildlife organizations in Florida, Virginia, and Delaware. In Delaware I started learning more of the medical care side of rehabbing and it was very fulfilling to return birds to the wild.
