Two years ago, after finding a tiny, baby opossum in my backyard, I researched online how to care for her. I found a rehabilitator who specialized in opossums to help me. She was successfully released, healthy and ready to embrace the life she was born to live. My next year was spent taking classes to learn, not just basic and advanced training, but how to specialize in opossums, as well as squirrels, cottontails and raccoons. This new adventure was more than a hobby, it was a calling, for I'd always felt great love and compassion for animals throughout my life.
