This incubator campaign was for the TLC-40 Eco Series II Baby Warm model
Whilel I was volunteering at the Folsom Zoo (around 1992), I saw a flyer from Wildlife Care Association on their bulletin board looking for volunteers to learn how to take care of orphaned and injured wildlife. I’ve always had a passion for wild animals and thought it would be a great opportunity to learn how to care for them and to get actual hands-on experience. I have always been interested in science and biology and looked at this as another avenue for training and experience and a way to help out both wild animals and the community. After volunteering for about 6 months at our intake center, I was asked if I would like to run for the Board of Directors so I did. I was also asked the following year to become a triage captain at our intake facility and to train new volunteers. I have been rehabilitating for the past 30 years and help with fundraising efforts to help care for the thousands of animals we receive each year. The incubator we are applying for will be used at our intake facility and will help us raise the 4,000+ baby birds we receive each year. We take in 7,000 to 8,000 animals each year and do not receive any state or federal funding to keep the doors open. All our funding comes from donations and fundraisers and our own volunteers. The incubators we currently use are old and keep breaking down. We thank you for your this opportunity to apply for a donated incubator and appreciate this opportunity you are providing!
