My favorite part of Animal Control is advocating for animals. Most people are accepting of domestic animals, but wildlife really gets the short end of the stick. When I was given the opportunity to work with wildlife, I knew I found my calling. I also found a "tribe" of folks that have been doing this for years and years, that I learn so much from and am so privileged to have access to them so I can continue to learn. I promote co-existing in my role with Humane Rescue Alliance, and since earning my permit to rehab in Maryland, I also do the same in my free time with my community having access to my contact information via our state's DNR website.
