Emergencies always happen after 5PM or on the weekends. I have a lifetime of hands on experience with different species so I didnt think to much about it when I was asked to help an Opposum until the rehab institution opened 36 hours later. I think it was assumed the little guy would die. Cold, covered in fleas, anemic, I just did what I thought was best. 3 day later he made it to the rehabbers in great condition! I also fell in love with helping these little dumplings! No one according to the finders and transporters in our area will tube feed. So when it wasnt something that deterred me, I became the holding place for many of our local itty bitties.
