I had been an international wildlife conservation volunteer for several years. I traveled at least once a year for several weeks to a month at a time working with elephants in Thailand; sea turtles In Costa Rica; rhinos, elephants and primates in Africa. I soon realized I wanted to give back to our local wildlife in the same way so I shifted my psychotherapy practice to part time and spent a year getting licenses, permits, building enclosures and setting up my non profit local wildlife rehab and domestic animal sanctuary. I also have a mission to help others connect to wildlife conservation opportunities as volunteers and to aid other wildlife rehabbors with connections, donations and resources through my organization.
