I got into rehabbing when I bought my house in New Orleans. There were these wonderful 0possums and Raccoons in my yard. I love all animals. A raccoon with distemper was on my porch one morning during Covid and luckily I was working from home. I was able to reach a rehabber who helped me with the poor animal. It was then i started rehabbing opossums and a few squirrels. I recently retired and was put in touch with my current rehabber who is giving me more training working with baby squirrels. We all spend so much of our own money on costly supplies. The formula, cages, food, healthy blocks are so draining yet we do it because we love and want to help the animals. I would not be able to afford an incubator if I had to pay for it fully out of my own pocket.
