I have been working as a sub permittee for both Center Wildlife Care and Tamarack Wildlife Center with the intention of testing, getting my licence and opening up my own facility. There is a desperate need for Wildlife Rehabilitators in the NW Region of Pa. As of right now there are non available. The closest facilities are 2+ hours away. I have been fully working on my facility as I work under both Wildlife centers and it is almost completed.

I have worked for the US Forest service since 1995, many years under a Wildlife Biologist and can retire in 3.5 years. My dream is to be licensed and fully running my own center by then. I was a Deputy for the Pennsylvania Game Commission for 10yrs. The PGC is who mandates the laws and protections for wildlife in the state of Pa. I was one of the first 6 woman in the state to become a deputy. I also was a vet tech for several years. These jobs along with being a sub permittee have given me a very rounded understanding in the care, identification, habitat needs for release and the laws in my state of wildlife in almost all aspects.
