Growing up I had always wanted to be a veterinarian. Once I took my second chemistry course in high school I found out that probably wasn't as feasible as I was hoping for.
I was, as I'm sure most rehabbers were, always taking in stray cats or injured wildlife and taking them to the vet against my parents wishes.
I've always had a love for animals and a heart for caring for creatures that need help my entire life. Once I found out that I could volunteer with a rehabber, I absolutely jumped at the opportunity and dug into all sorts of material trying to find best practices and updated info on all these species I would like to care for. Let me tell you, it was NOT easy. But for the last 2 years there is no greater feeling than releasing animals who came in injured and watching them run free again.
