I’ve always loved animals, caring for injured or orphaned animals is something I have to do if I see something suffering. I started rehabbing after my nephew cut down a tree and orphaned 3 baby squirrels, they were approximately 2 weeks old. I discovered the need to have a permit and persued completing that process. Since then I have been part of a rehab group, able to network with others giving and receiving help as needed. I’m on the Iowa DNR list of rehabbers also, people can reach out to me through that avenue also. I have basic equipment I have purchased myself, syringes, nipples, formula, heating pads for warmth. Critter Nation enclosures. An incubator would be the ultimate with baby season here, the heating pads are my main source of warmth for the baby animals.
