Zsuzsanna L.

$475 of $475 raised

One day Zsuzsanna was driving her old truck and saw a grown opossum laying down in the middle of the road. She got out of the truck and to her greatest surprise, she found four live babies clinging to her – she was dead. At the time, Zsuzsanna didn't know anything about the Virginia Opossum – including that it was a marsupial. She was born and raised in Hungary  where she only saw these always-smiling magic creatures in the zoo. She collected the babies, got in contact with a local opossum expert and after 2 years of apprenticeship and training with many rehabilitators in the area, she got licensed as a wildlife rehabilitator in Tennessee state. As Zsuzsanna is on active duty in the Military, she has to move when she gets a new set of orders. Her wildlife rehabilitator license was transferred over from Tennessee to Maryland, with the exception of the Rabies Vector Species (RVS). As of right now she cannot help raccoons, foxes or skunks, but her application for the allowed RVS species is being prepared. An incubator will be a huge help in saving the orphaned baby wildlife species in her care now, as well as those in the years to come.
