LaRita was volunteering at the animal shelter in Georgetown and heard about a rehabilitator working out of her home nearby. She contacted her and became the Monday morning volunteer in January 2017 and has been caring for rabbits, opossums, squirrels, skunks and songbirds ever since. LaRita says she loves caring for wildlife because when it's all done, the animals get to return to the wild where they belong.
