Danica always wanted to volunteer her time to make a difference, especially with animals. After an injury she went on a leave of absence from work and suddenly had a lot of time on her hands but still wanted to make a difference. She signed up for volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation center and soon found her passion. Volunteering turned to interning with them. When Danica's family moved to a different area, she commuted over 2 hours for over a year to continue helping at the center. She eventually started volunteering at another facility, then was hired on as Wildlife Technician. Danica says that she loves her job so much. She loves that she is able to help the animals that come into care, that there is a selfless act of kindness and willingness to get animals better to be released back into the wild. She says that the feeling from every successful release is pure joy. An incubator will help Danica care for the most fragile babies.
