Animals have forever been Cindy's passion. It wasn't until she had the space and location to begin rehabbing and, she says, she went hog-wild! Most of all, Cindy's love for wildlife pushed her to get training, build cages, take wildlife calls, transport, and care for hundreds of babies of all kinds -- from rescuing a heron caught in a trap, to an injured red-tail hawk, to tiny baby birds and baby mammals everywhere. She is in a very rural area where rehabbers are sparse so she has been doing this on her own for a very long time. As a volunteer, Cindy has never been in a position to get a real incubator for the babies. She does what she can, make-shifting an environment where temperature and humidity are paramount to the survival and release to the wild for these critters. She says that she would be ever so thankful to granted a true incubator for these tiny, helpless critters. Nothing is more heartwarming to Cindy than being outside and seeing babies she has helped and released doing so well in the wild!
