Sally's daughter Alicia (also featured on this site) has chronic health issues which limit her outside activities. Alicia felt wildlife rehabbing was something meaningful she could do and as they're huge animal lovers, it seemed like natural fit for them both. Sally started with rabbits and although they're more difficult, she stuck with it and now takes in about 100 each year with the help of her daughter. The majority of the bunnies are babies who, without a mom to keep them warm, could greatly benefit from an incubator. Although Sally's role as a Alicia's caretaker has changed her life dramatically, rehabbing gives her another purpose, keeps her busy, and brings her plenty of joy.
