After getting married, moving to this country and becoming a citizen, Teresa found a baby Mockingbird in a parking lot with no trees and many cats. She rescued the baby from danger and her background as a Biologist helped her figure out what to do next. She fed the baby and kept it alive until she could find a wildlife rehabilitation center - something that just didn't exist in the third world country where Teresa grew up. She was amazed and immediately knew what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. 18 years later Teresa is the director at a center that cares for 3000 animals each year - all native Florida wildlife including birds, deer, opossums, bunnies, raptors and much more. Teresa feels that she is so lucky because she came to this country, found a baby bird and found her calling.
