Cara has always been the person who people bring animals to and she can't seem to go anywhere without finding animals in need. She has been helping animals for over 20 years, the last as a licensed wildlife rehabber. She helps Raccoons, Porcupines, Skunks, Squirrels, Rodents, Groundhogs, Fox and Opossums, about 200 each year, and says it's an honor to work with wildlife and see them get their chance in the wild.
Cara created Bluebird Farm not only as a place for wildlife to be rehabilitated and released but also as a farm animal sanctuary. She works in the community bringing animals to schools, nursing homes and community correction programs. She connect the rescues with children who have emotional issues and physical disabilities, Alzheimer's patients, and clients in probation programs. Her farm animals are rescued from slaughter houses, neglect and abandonment and they bring a tremendous amount of education and healing to people. What a beautiful process it is.
