Valarie R.

$475 of $475 raised

Valarie worked for many years in a pet store. People would bring in baby wildlife they found all the time and would either want to raise the baby themselves or they would try to give it to the employees to care for it. Valarie always knew it was illegal for them to have the animals but that was all she knew at that time. She started to research wildlife rehabilitation and discovered she had a calling for it. She began volunteering for a wildlife facility and after a few years got her own permit. There was, and still is, a huge need in Valarie's area for wildlife rehabbers. While working at the pet store she was able to provide both education and assistance to the public (and the store customers and employees) and be an immediate contact for wildlife in need. Now, even though she has a different career, Valarie is still able to help her community, but now it's as a home wildlife rehabber. An incubator will help her care for the most fragile babies.
