How has your first Baby Warm incubator helped you?
It has been a life saver, literally. I got a call on an older opossum sitting in a driveway. He was severely emaciated, dehydrated, covered in fleas, mites, a shattered left front paw and various puncture wounds. He was septic and was in a lot of pain, extremely low body temperature, unable to maintain it from septicemia and emaciated. I put him in the incubator and set the correct temperature for an opossum and he stays comfortable, is warm, body temperature is at the correct state and he is resting. I don't think he would have made it another night without this incubator.
How will this additional incubator help?
I get calls on many neonates ranging from skunk kits, raccoon kits, opossum joeys, squirrels, cottontail rabbits. Having a portable incubator on hand would help with the stress and bloat that some of them are so susceptible to getting if they are cold. Having this incubator I would be able to travel further for animals and not have to worry about the warm pack getting cold, or the hot water bottles leaking all over them.
