$475 of $475 raised
Ann has been a full-time zookeeper at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for 20 years. In 2011 a hawk flew into the viewing glass of the tiger exhibit in the area where Ann works and was injured. She took the hawk to the Ohio Wildlife Center for rehabilitation. It did well and make a full recovery. A staff member at the wildlife center brought the hawk back to the zoo for release and Ann was able to be there for the release. She was very moved by the whole experience and decided that she wanted to be a part of that organization that helps return animals to the wild and gives them a second chance. She signed up to be a volunteer and has been helping injured and orphaned wildlife ever since.
