Katie B.

$499 of $499 raised

Growing up, Katie loved animals and always knew she wanted to work with them in some capacity. She began working as a veterinary technician while in college and working towards her degree in Biology. She enjoyed her work with companion animals but was always interested in helping wildlife. Katie first began her journey in wild bird rehabilitation when she started volunteering at The Raptor Trust in Millington, NJ, almost 25 years ago. She has been involved in helping wild birds in some capacity ever since that first day. Katie has been a sub-permittee and off-site caregiver with The Avian Wildlife Center in Wantage, NJ for almost 20 years. She works closely with the Avian Wildlife Center providing rescue, transport, assessment of injuries and medical care until transfer can be made to the main center for advanced treatment. An ICU from Baby Warm would help support the injured and orphaned wild birds that are admitted to the center and give them a better chance of survival.
