Macaw Recovery Network is a conservation organization working with the wild Great Green Macaws in Sarapiqui. They monitor the nests and ensure the successful fledgling of the chicks. Sometimes the chicks may ground themselves, which is when Jack and his fellow rescuers would use the incubator while they prepare for the Macaws to be put back in the tree with their parents. They also operate a breeding center in Guanacaste and have reintroduced the Scarlet Macaw to this area. The wild birds often nest in dead palm which can be damaged easily in storms. This can result in the tree falling and the chicks needing to be put back in a nearby nest.
