Danielle D.
As a young child Danielle was always trying to help the wildlife in need, from chipmunks attacked by neighborhood cats to mice found drowning in a pot of frying oil. It was no surprise when she followed a career path towards veterinary medicine. Eventually she became a veterinarian who treats cats, dogs, and exotic pets, like birds and reptiles, but she always maintained her interest in helping wildlife. Through veterinary school Danielle spent extra clinical rotations in the wildlife clinic, and after veterinary school, she went to work for a veterinary hospital that did a lot of wildlife care. Her first boss out of veterinary school held both state and federal licenses for rehabilitating wildlife, so they treated a range of animals from owls with broken wings to a nest of pinkie rats. When Danielle was ready to start her own veterinary hospital, she knew wildlife had to be a big part of it, so she pursued her rehabbers license.
