Karen B.
Karen worked healthcare for forty-five years and recently retired. After retirement she missed the nurturing aspect of her career and she has found that the wildlife have filled that need tremendously. She has always lived on a farm and has worked with animals her entire life. She enjoys helping, and watching the animals that she takes in succeed and thrive in the wild. Karen recently rescued and rehabilitated twenty-two pinkie squirrels and has released them into the wild. She still continues to check on them, helping when needed to ensure their success in the wild. It brings her immense joy to see them thriving on their own and some even having litters of their own. This year Karen had to borrow an incubator from another rehabilitator, traveling over one hundred miles round trip to pick up and return it. Having one of her own would help her to continue working with the newborn animals.
