Katie's boyfriend is an arborist tree climber who had saved a few injured and orphaned squirrels he found at work over the years. He brought one home to Katie and she learned everything she possibly could as fast as she could to care for the baby. She didn’t really set out to become a rehabber but it took her by storm and now she wouldn’t change it. This year she has cared for 13 squirrels and currently has 11 in her care until they can be released, including one that is partially paralyzed. Lifelong animal lover Katie says that it has been so fulfilling. She can’t wait to learn more and save as many squirrels/animals as possible.
