Diana moved into her family homestead and was clearing some of the woods on the property. She was pulling vines out of a tree and accidentally pulled a squirrel’s nest down. The mother only took one of her babies. Diana contacted a wildlife rehabber, signed up as a sub-permittee, and learned all she could to help the baby that was left. The experience inspired her to become licensed on her own, and she has been helping injured and orphaned squirrels and cottontails ever since.
