How will this additional incubator help?
Since applying for a Baby Warm Incubator in 2017, patient admissions have increased nearly 20% for WildCare Foundation. We are also receiving a greater diversity of species – WildCare received 209 different species in 2017 compared with 237 in 2020. This year, intake is up over 20% compared with last year – WildCare’s record-breaking year. All of this has put pressure on WildCare’s infrastructure – from enclosure capacity to incubator capacity. This incubator would allow us to appropriately care for more nestlings and struggling fledglings. Forty-one percent of all admissions are Aves. This additional incubator would enable WildCare to save even more orphaned birds.
