Jessica D.

$499 of $499 raised

When Jessica was on a vacation in Alaska as a teenager, she visited a wildlife rehabilitation center as she had been interested in possibly pursuing it as a career in the future. Years later, she encountered an injured hawk in her backyard and called her vet to see if they knew of any local rehabilitators. They gave Jessica a list of phone numbers to the local wildlife rehabilitation center. She started volunteering to help shortly after. While volunteering, she learned of an internship program and started as a college intern in the Summer of 2017. After Jessica's internship ended, she continued volunteering until a staff position opened up in 2018 and has been there ever since.
