Mary D.
This incubator campaign was for the TLC-50 Advance model
After finding an injured juvenile squirrel, Mary read up on everything she could to ensure the squirrel was getting taken care of. She learned so much about squirrel nutritional requirements, behavior, ailments- from milk replacements to adult nutrition. She felt that after all that work, she could apply her new skills to help others. Mary first reached out to Squirrel Refuge as a volunteer, and then met up with some local volunteers for Blue Mountain Wildlife that also were experienced in squirrels, and closer to home. Both organizations have some fantastic squirrel people that Mary is happy to call friends. However, the squirrel volunteers in her area have recently retired and have handed her the "squirrel keys" for this area. Phone calls for abandoned baby squirrels (and injured adults) have greatly increased since then, and she is doing what she can. Mary says, "I enjoy learning from every little squirrel that comes in, their personalities are all so different. It's rewarding to know each one gets a 2nd chance at life."
