I have always loved animals. I knew that I wanted to work with them ever since I was a little girl. I started down the path of veterinary medicine, but decided that it was not hands on enough for me. Throughout high school I volunteered at a vet clinic and an animal shelter so that I could gain animal experience, but I have always had a love for wildlife. I came to realize that, while I do love dogs and cats, I really wanted to focus my attention on the wild animals that make this planet their home. I want to keep these wonderful animals around for generations to come and try to educate people to do the same. I went to college and joined the biology department. I focused on biodiversity and wildlife biology. During my time in college I reached out to a local Wildlife Rehabilitator. I started an internship through her at home rehabilitation center and completely fell in love with wildlife. I assisted her in the rehabilitation and care of Raccoons, Opossums, Squirrels, Rabbits, and any other small animals she was brought. During my time in college I worked as vet tech at an animal hospital. This allowed me to gain medical experience to assist in my goal of working with wildlife. I graduated from College in 2019 and began looking for jobs in Wildlife Rehabilitation. I applied for a position as Director of Rehabilitation at Wild Bird Rescue in Wichita Falls, Texas, and was offered the position. I am currently a subpermitee on my Senior Rehabilitators license while I work to have my own.
