How has your first Baby Warm incubator helped you?
Prior to receiving the Baby Warm, I used an ancient, unreliable incubator that finally had to be discarded when the thermostat failed, putting the neonates in danger. The Baby Warm was perfect to keep my squirrels at the proper temperature so they might thrive. I was especially relieved because the temperature is constant…so important for pinkies. Other sources of heat are not reliable, nor constant. The consistency is paramount, which is why I was so thrilled to receive the Baby Warm.
How will this additional incubator help?
Since I’ve been lucky enough to have bosses who support me bringing baby squirrels to my workplace (a high school guidance office), I typically handle the neonates/pinkies since I’m able to feed around-the-clock. Having a portable incubator would be a dream come true! One of my positions was an hour drive and another was 1/2 hour. Keeping those babies toasty warm on the road is extremely important for the wee ones and this incubator would certainly keep these babies at the appropriate, constant temperature. Furthermore, my co-rehabber and I often “babysit” for each other when other issues come up that might interfere with a feeding. Once again, moving the babies around with the incubator would be worry- and hassle-free.
