Amanda R.
Amanda has always worked with animals in some respect. She was working with feral cats for about 10 years and had someone bring a raccoon to her knowing that she has cared for many orphaned kittens. Amanda says that she was naive to the local laws and when contacting the DEC they seized and euthanized the baby she had cared for several months, even after moving it to an appropriate facility. Since then she made sure she has all of the appropriate documentation, education, and vaccines to care for wildlife. She also tries to educate as often as possible about the fate of wildlife if untrained individuals attempt too much contact with them. We're so glad Amanda stuck with it and is devoted to caring for wildlife. Let's get her the incubator she needs to give babies the best possible chance of survival.
