Andrew was working at a vet's office in North Carolina when a client brought in an orphaned baby squirrel. He took the baby home and cared for him until his eyes opened, then contacted a local non-profit volunteer wildlife rehabilitation group and was hooked. It didn't take long before more baby squirrels - victims of a tornado - began to arrive at the vet's office. Soon Andrew had his hands full with squirrels and baby birds. 15 years later he cares for birds, pelicans ("they look like little aliens"), opossums, squirrels and raccoons. Andrew's so happy to live in a state where rabies vector species can be legally rehabbed and released back into the wild where they belong.
