April found an orphaned squirrel and realized the lack of rehab resources in her state. She immediately felt injustice and conviction. If an animal is orphaned or injured, she knew there should be other options than to drive hours away to a licensed rehabber, or to let nature takes its course and know an animal is suffering to die. So April took it upon herself to be the solution. She threw herself into symposiums, apprenticeships, volunteering and training, eventually forming Wild Souls nonprofit made up of 6 women. They are now 1 of 4 organizations in the state that do on call rescues. Let's get her the incubator she needs for the most fragile babies.
