Bernadette A.
Retired elementary teacher Bernadette has always cared for wildlife -- taking care of baby birds, or trying to rescue injured animals found in the road and rush them to the vet. Driving home one evening, she came across an owl in the road. Bernadette quickly turned her car around and wrapped the owl up in a jacket. Once at home, she looked up rehabbers and came across the wildlife response hotline number. They instructed Bernadette to take the owl to an animal emergency vet that cares for domestic and wildlife animals. Bernadette found herself so excited about saving the owl and finding out about an organization that cares for wildlife, she called the hotline back to find out how she could get involved. Now she is a wildlife hotline volunteer, transporter, rescuer, and works with 3 rehabbers. An incubator will help her give babies the best possible chance of survival.
