Holly's Nest was founded after the death of Byron's daughter Holly in 2004. Her death was the result of an auto accident during a snowstorm. While Byron's wife was struggling with the loss, she just happened to find a bluebird with a broken wing. She rehabbed the bird, and Holly's Nest was born. They formed Holly's Nest officially in 2007, and since then they have rehabbed more animals each year. In 2016 they received their fawn license and are currently working on their raptor license. Last year Bryon and his wife rehabbed 130 squirrels, 55 rabbits, 36 wild birds, 63 fawns, 18 flying squirrels, 95 opossums, 32 rabbits, 3 potbellied pigs, and 1 groundhog affectionately named Murray. They anticipate this year's numbers to grow by 33 percent. They partner with San Lee Park to educate the public about wild animals and recycling to limit the impact on our environment. Let's get Byron the incubator they need for the babies.
