Connie has always loved animals. When she was young, she'd bring home injured animals, take care of them, then release them. Her vet suggested that she consider becoming a rehabber - so she did! In her first litter of orphaned baby opossums, one female was non-releasable due to health issues but she lived to be a year old. Connie named her Pee Wee and promised her that as long as a possum has the will and strength to fight death, she would help any way she could. True to her word, Connie takes in about 400 possums each year and she's passing on her love of wildlife to her teenage sons.
