A few years ago my dog found a baby squirrel that had fallen from it's nest in our back yard. We ran out to the gree to search for others and found his brother. Both were approximately 3 weeks, but we didn't know anything about Squirrels at the time. I called a rehabber, Lily Croteau, and she was about to leave for a vacation. After failed attempts of reuniting the babies with their mama and with careful instructions, she showed me how to care for the Squirrels before she left. Upon her return, my family was in love with caring for these babies and Lily asked me to be a volunteer on her team. What started with Jeremy and Jet, didn't end there. Following their rehab and release, I received calls from people with Squirrels who were injured or had fallen from a tree. It seemed like every day pur team was tagged on our local neighborhood page any time a squirrel was in need. Since then I have rehabbed and released over 20 Squirrels and care for a medically non-releasable squirrel. What started out as finding 2 babies I thought I would be turning over to a rehabber, ended up being my passion.
