I found a baby opossum one year next to his dead mother. I tried to find a rehabber to take it but everyone was full. So I did my research and raised it but when it got big I didn't know what to do with it. I was able to find a rehabber to take it in the fall but it was non releasable at that point. She kept it as an educational pet and it lived for 3 years. She inspired me to learn how to rehab correctly and I've been doing it ever since. I have always loved animals of every kind and I feel like rehabbing is part of my Native American spirit.
