Danielle M.
During college, one of Danielle's Biology internships involved assisting in the conservation of the critically endangered Anegada Iguana. Her second internship at a local zoo eventually became her first job working with exotic animals and captive wildlife. She spent about one year caring for and educating the public about all kinds of animals including porcupines, African servals, lynxes, kangaroos, coatis as well as reticulated pythons, alligators, and crocodiles. After graduation, Danielle started working at a veterinary hospital that cares for every kind of pet you could imagine from dogs, cats, and small mammals to snakes, iguanas, exotic birds, and small farm animals. She is currently taking classes to earn a degree in veterinary technology in hopes of becoming a licensed veterinary technician. Her wildlife rehabbing journey began when she attended a seminar and began volunteering for a wildlife center to directly learn how to be a rehabilitator. After about a year of volunteering, she believes that she is ready to take the state exam to become licensed. Her goal is to be ready for baby season by this spring. An incubator will be a crucial tool in saving the lives of orphaned wildlife.
