I’ve always appreciated encounters with wildlife while in the woods and am fortunate to live in an area where I’m surrounded by both. But it was an opossum who made our backyard a routine stop that truly won my heart. Watching this resilient little visitor night after night, I felt a deep connection—and a growing desire to help animals like it who are injured or orphaned, particularly as they face increasing human-caused challenges.
The apprenticeship required to become a licensed rehabilitator had both heartwarming and heartbreaking moments, but it’s important work—every success is a reminder of what’s possible, and every loss underscores the urgency.
As a newly licensed wildlife rehabilitator working with small mammals, an incubator is essential for caring for neonates and other vulnerable patients. Your support will make a real difference in giving these animals a chance to thrive!
Each small act of care may not change the world, but for that one animal, it changes everything.
