How has your first Baby Warm incubator helped you?
Before I got my incubator I used heating pads underneath containers to help keep babies warm. I have had countless pads stop working or the low setting quits but the other settings work but you have to monitor and adjust the container and padding as it gets to warm. I would continuously monitor the babies in case they would get cold and I have luckily caught them in the nick of time. Not only has my Baby Warm incubator helped me to resolve that issue but it has also helped me save not only babies, but juveniles and injured adults that I have received soaking wet, muddy & cold from falling out of trees due to storms and hurricanes. I clean them and place them right into the incubator and it has not failed me yet. I have also placed baby owls & hawks in there until I can get them to the Raptor Center (they need to stay warm too ☺). I only wish I had 2 more!
How will this additional incubator help?
I volunteer at Carolina Raptor Center as well as rehab small mammals at home. When I work my shifts at the Raptor Center, I have to transport all of my babies (that need fed every 3 hours) with me. As stated in question 1, I have to hook up a heating pad to a converter in my car and place them on top of that for the hour ride up and hour ride back. I also pick up a lot of babies from direct calls that I receive and transport them to my house. Sometimes from an hour away.
The portable incubator will be perfect as the heat will be constant and more reliable than the heat pads. It will always be in my car so if I am on the road and I get a call to pick up a little one, It will be ready to keep him warm and comfortable.
