Desiree's friend found an orphaned squirrel. Desiree originally took the baby just to find someone else to rehab it, but she couldn't find someone local to take it. She did the research to save the baby, and when word of her success got out, more calls started coming in. With so many babies in need of her help, Desiree found an amazing mentor and started working to get her license. She said that being able to save and release these little creatures that rely on her for their survival is the most rewarding thing she has ever done.
