How has your first Baby Warm incubator helped you?
The incubator has been a life saver. Cottontail rabbit babies have an extremely difficult time regulating their body temperature and can get hypothermia easily. The consistent, reliable source of heat provided by the incubator helps stabilize them quickly. Sick or injured older rabbits benefit from the warm, secure, stress free environment of the incubator and recover more quickly.
How will this additional incubator help?
The portable version of the Baby Warm incubator will be a blessing. Having the ability to provide the animals with immediate life saving warmth while being transported would increase the likelihood of survival for many animals. I travel to pick up at all the area Animal Services locations around Dallas. Sometimes that means I'm driving a couple hours before I get back to my facility. I have to rely on hot hands, heated rice socks, hot water bottles, and a heated car to keep the animals warm. These can become too hot or too cold during transport. Constant, controlled heat would help me save more lives.
