I began to help rehab birds starting in July 2021. I got started after a nest of Carolina Wrens hatched on my balcony. Unfortunately all but one passed away dispite the parents taking phenominal care of their young. After bringing the baby bird to Carolina Waterfowl Rescue I was told about all the amazing ways I could help more baby birds. I started training in the baby bird program and became a rescue and transport volunteer. Soon I was rescuing birds daily and found it was the most rewarding experience. I think as a society we should all be giving back to wildlife when we can. This is my way of staying connected to nature and giving back to the animals that are more often than not harmed by humans. I want to offer the best care while transporting hundreds of birds each year. Having an incubator will help to keep baby birds alive and have the best chance of survival while I transport them to the rescue.
