Doreen became a rehabber thanks to her Siamese cat Zacherly who came home one night with an opossum! There they were, sitting side by side on her porch posts! Doreen and her husband immediately fell in love and "Gabriella" became a spoiled little outdoor family member. Soon they spotted tiny tails sticking out of her pouch and they realized that their "mama" had babies. Very shortly thereafter, Gaby returned all beat up with an empty pouch. This was about 2 years ago and in the interim Doreen contacted every rehabber she could find to learn about these precious animals and their care. She has taken courses, helped other rehabbers in our area and is in the process of getting her license. It was love at first sight and she has never looked back!
