Dyan L.

Dyan has always loved animals and has tried to help them her entire life. 25 years ago in Virginia, a hawk hit her car and landed in a field. Dyan found it, took it home, and called Inland Games and Fisheries. A wildlife rehabber took over care of the hawk, and Dyan asked if she could follow up about the progress. She began mentoring under that rehabber and ended up becoming licensed herself. Over the years, Dyan rescued and released over a thousand animals, birds, and reptiles, but then 10 years ago she spent a number of years fighting cancer and had to retire from wildlife rehab. She is now in remission and healthy again. She has moved to another state, is rescuing animals, and working toward her license in her new location.
