How has your first Baby Warm incubator helped you?
Oh my, the large BabyWarm incubator has helped the Hummingbird I rehab so very much. I specialize in Hummingbirds and because they have the higher body temperature than nearly any other bird or mammal, when they are injured and cold, for them heat is critical, and in a lot of instances makes the difference between life and death. The biggest species of Hummingbirds (adult), here in California, weighs only 5 grams, and they do not carry extra fat to keep warm like other birds, so warming them, whether they come in as orphaned/and or injured nestlings or adults, is so critical for this species. This incubator warms up really fast, in just a matter of 2 minutes, and has saved so many hummingbird lives since I received it. It is wonderful.

How will this additional incubator help?
The new TLC30eco "To Go" incubator would help with Hummingbird Rehab so much. Nestling hummingbirds must be fed every 15 minutes (as the parent would do in the wild) from early morning until night time, in order to survive. They have the highest metabolism of any bird on this planet, and can digest a meal in about 15 minutes, so every 15 minute feedings are essential and critical. When I have to go to doctor appointments, or other appointments, or grocery shopping, family events, etc., those 15 minute feeds must continue and the nestling have to go with me to be fed. I have tried two types of the egg hatch warmers this year, and with each one, the baby hummingbirds did not do well in them and started panting/open mouth breathing because they got too hot for them, no matter what I set the temperature at. Also, injured adults who come in may be hurt too badly or to low in weight to feed themselves and must be transported to appointments in order to hand feed them every 15 minutes.
