Gay met a lady at her vet with an eagle in a crate. This rehabber said she could really use some help so Gay jumped in with both feet. When Gay later saw her bottle feeding orphaned baby raccoons, she knew her life was about to change dramatically. 6 years later, Gay is now a wildlife partner to that rehabber as they care for all mammals, birds and reptiles of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. She gets up excited every day because wildlife rehabilitation has given her life new meaning. Gay says that when she can make a difference for an animal who wouldn't have made it without her help, she feels like the luckiest person alive.
