Heather worked in healthcare for 8 years and loved the medical field but found she was a bit shy of people. It became clear that she was meant to help in a different way when she found an injured baby Downy Woodpecker and met a rehabber who would become her mentor. Through the experience, Heather realized that rehabbing baby birds was her calling. She has been doing it ever since.
